WVAC is always in search of new, willing and competent volunteers to increase its membership. We are looking for people who are willing to make a commitment to our community. The EMT course is a 150hour course with state written and practical examinations at the end. After being an EMT with us for a minimum of 6 months you are eligible to sign up for the Emergency Vehicle Drivers Course.

Our volunteers work a minimum of 36hours a month. In addition, EMTs can also respond to 2nd calls and “neighborhood response” calls as needed. There are two required evening meetings a month that are held at HQ. One is our monthly business meeting and the other is a CME (continuing education/training). Members are required to maintain their certification as prescribed by the State of Connecticut.

WVAC prides itself on being a diverse group. Our membership consists of HS/College students, medical professionals, homemakers, financial professionals, retirees and people who work locally. Reasons for becoming a member varies as well. Some of the reasons we’ve heard are; I want to give back to the community, wanting to help others, interested in the medical field and college resume building, to name a few.

If you are interested in joining WVAC, please download the WVAC application and mail it to P.O. Box 216 Wilton CT 06897 or fax to 203.834.8874. Upon receipt, we will contact you. If you have any questions please call 203.834.6245 or email our membership recruiter at admin@wiltonambulance.org.
